Audio mining. Node 01

I enjoy listening to a variety of podcasts while I’m working.  It helps keep me sane.  Most of these happen to be game related podcasts.  As I don’t know how many blog readers are also podcast listeners, I thought it might be of interest to some (perhaps not) if I shared various quotes from these podcasts.  I’ll try and post these periodically as I have the time. 

Here is the first batch:

  1. That last one struck home (and introduced me to a new podcast, thanks!).

    That’s the fundamental issue with the personal gear/level grind as a central focus. The relevant content is all at the end, and we’re left with a distant “endgame” instead of an “endless game”.

    Make the game about the journey instead of the destination. It’ll make all content relevant, boost player’s emotional investment, and break down the barrier to entry. Now how to do that… that’s the real question, i’nit?

      I think you could do a lot worse than the Gamers With Jobs podcast. These guys are consistently insightful, informative, and witty. They are passionate about their gaming and it shows. It’s easily my favorite gaming related podcast. I look forward to it each and every Wednesday.
